I always wanted to pursue an advanced degree, but with my career as a government employee that travels quite frequently, I didn’t think I’d be able to. When I found out about the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ (CMU) degree programs, it was exactly what I had been looking for. The idea of undertaking a doctorate degree by myself was frightening, to say the least, but CMU made it much less overwhelming. The classroom courses afforded me the opportunity to chase my dreams through a degree program that was flexible and convenient for my busy work life. The online courses allowed me to take my education with me in and outside of the United States. Because of this and the ease of communication between myself and my professors, I feel like I’m right there in the classroom, even if I’m on the other side of the world. When I do get behind schedule, the entire CMU faculty was right there, ready to help me get back on track. I enjoyed the quality of the materials and the instructors. The knowledge I gained will help me in my continuous journey. For all the encouragements, motivations, support help, assistance and understanding by always being there for me was truly a blessing in disguise. I am glad that I decided to pursue my doctorate; it’s one of the best decisions I could have ever made.

Every week, I spend at least 40 hours on the phone with patients suffering from type 1 diabetes troubleshooting technical issues on their glucose monitoring devices (CGM). Today, while explaining to a parent why the speed of data reception on her child’s continuous glucose monitoring device slew down dramatically, I suddenly realized that a lot of the logic I use to find solutions to those issues progressively builds on the knowledge I learn in my M.I.S classes such as telecommunication systems, Database management, computer applications, servers, and many more. My Java classes are helping me understand the different programming concepts and terminology when I communicate with the company’s software developers during our weekly product development meetings. My CPT classes taught me how communication is vital to succeed at work and how to improve my organizational behavior skills. Because I was able, in a short period of time, to use that modest knowledge and therefore offer the best advice to my patients, I was selected as one of the 10 best employees of the month. I am very grateful to all of who helped me directly or indirectly to become a better student. Thank you very much!
